Telyn Swallows Fishing Hook and Line
This happened at 12:10 today Friday, 5th June.
We've reviewed all our cameras at 10% speed, we think there is no more fishing line or hooks on the actual trout itself which Idris has taken away from the nest. The chicks seem unaffected.
Idris with the fish, seems clear of fishing line.

At this point there is little we can do other than monitor closely Telyn's behaviour over the next few hours and days. There is a chance she may regurgitate the fishing tackle or that strong enzymes in her stomach may start to break it down.
We've seen fishing lines come to the nest before, but we're never seen an osprey actually ingest a hook.
We can't catch her, but even if we could, all three chicks would soon perish during the time she would be away. There are a lot of 'we don't knows' at the moment.
We're planning for the worst outcome but hoping for the best.
No news is good news today. We can't see any behaviours in Telyn that aren't normal since she swallowed the fishing hook at 12:10 yesterday.
She's a long way from being out of the woods yet, we'll be watching her closely over the next few days.
Telyn
Absolutely nothing to report.
Which is a good thing! We can see no negative reactions in Telyn after she swallowed the fish hook - now almost 48 hours ago.
That hook will have to come out somehow, though; we'll keep monitoring.
We're confident that this hook was the non-barbed variety, meaning no vicious barbs along the stalk, which is excellent news. Here's the best image we could take from the video..

It is now a week since Telyn swallowed the fish hook - we've honestly not seen any difference in behaviour.
Whether Telyn has managed to get rid of the hook, and when, we don't know. There are two ways out!
The chicks are getting stronger by the day and being fed by Idris this morning., while Telyn takes a breather. The weather this week has been awful, and should be getting better from this afternoon onwards.
All three chicks will be ringed in a couple of weeks.
