Our Mission
Here at Caffi Tŷ Maenan we are passionate about the environment and our magnificent surroundings. It is important to us that the food we use is sustainable and as local as possible, supporting local businesses and farmers, and therefore our local economy. Not only this but we can guarantee the quality of our product and its welfare and by minimising our food miles, it lessens our carbon footprint.

This is why certain foods will not be available at certain times, we move with the seasons, and move with what is growing locally and when.  We hope by doing this we can also create a conversation with our visitors about the importance of this and promote awareness of seasonal ingredients.

Our food miles map (located opposite the servery), demonstrates this visually. Talented local Artist Liz Fenwick, has helped us to create a mural map of Wales. This in turn is magnetic. Our magnets then highlight the food item and pinpoint the location of that foodstuffs.  

With all this in mind, our aim is to make and bake as much as possible on site, meaning all our cakes will be freshly made in house, along with bread rolls, soups and daily specials. You’ll also notice small things such as all drinks in cans, the Dyfi Cup Scheme and biodegradable environmentally friendly products being used to do our bit for our planet.
