Ospreys Sighted at Dyfi, Clywedog, and Glaslyn

Right, are you ready for today's shenanigans?

You may like to pour yourself a drink before reading on.

Dyfi

Glesni not back yet, but she's not late.

Rutland's 3J landed again this morning, stayed a short time before heading off to the Glaslyn where she was spotted an hour later.

We've had another osprey, male we think, eating a fish 500m from the nest on a river perch Alwyn put up last week; Monty took no notice - we don't know who he is but he has a missing tail feather, left side.

Clywedog

The bird that we think may be Dai Dot (not confirmed yet) has been around again today, and his luck was in this afternoon. He and Blue 24 have been mating! The resident female, Delyth, is not back yet.

Glaslyn

Apart from Blue 3J, a Scottish male, Blue HR7, has been around most of the day and he's taken a keen interest in Mrs. G. So much interest, in fact, the pair have been mating!

Mrs. G has been food soliciting despite having her own fish - a sure sign of pair-bonding and acceptance of the new male. Blue HR7 was around for most of last year too, usually with Blue 3J in-tow. He's a 2014 bird from Lake of Menteith, Scotland.

Later on this afternoon, another male has showed up, possibly the same one that showed up early in the season last year before the resident male Aran returned. This bird looks very much like Aran, in fact, and he's just alighted the nest at 07:55 with a fish as we write this, HR7 seems to have gone!

Meanwhile, Monty is on his new Dyfi birch-perch looking as calm and handsome as ever.

We've also had a merlin on the anti-perch perch today and a woodcock yesterday.
