It's been one of those magical days on the Dyfi that crop up from time to time.

Not only did one osprey turn up, three did - and we're set again for another rollercoaster season.

Here is the rundown of the main timeline today:

Blue 24 is back. She is eight days later than last year arriving and she looks in excellent condition.

Blue 24 had a brief liaison with Dai Dot in 2014 on the Dyfi nest before Monty and Glesni arrived. She was alone in the morning and left at 11:10 heading south west. You just knew she would be back.

Next up is Dai Dot again. He arrived for the first time this season the previous day but his stay today proved to be a brief one. No sooner had he landed on the nest with a large twig, he was off again. There was another osprey in the area at the time, we could hear him calling - maybe this was the reason for Dai's quick exit?

After the warm-up acts, the main man made his entrance. Monty left his Dyfi nest last year on 7th September and today, exactly seven months to the day later on 7th April, he returned.

Monty's partner of the last two seasons is not back yet - Glesni is expected later this week. The problem is, by late afternoon, Monty and Blue 24 had hit it off. Again!

It is 'Déjà vu' all over again and you just know, there will be trouble ahead..
