In 2011 the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust teamed up with the BBC's Springwatch and Autumnwatch teams to feature the Dyfi ospreys on those shows. The BBC have been kind enough to allow us to show the osprey videos from the Autumnwatch series on our website. This will particularly help many osprey fans that do not live in the UK to see the clips as this will be their only way of seeing them. It also allows people living in the UK to see them of course - again and again if you like!
Here are the three Dyfi osprey clips from the first show in the series, broadcast October 7th.
This is from Autumnwatch Episode 2, broadcast October 14th - Roy follows in Einion's footsteps
This is from Autumnwatch Episode 3, broadcast October 21st - Roy follows Dulas and witnesses a magical raptor migration.
This is from Autumnwatch Episode 4, broadcast October 28th - Roy is at the passage point in southern Spain where thousands of raptors cross over to Africa.
This is from Autumnwatch Episode 7, broadcast November 18th - Roy visits the Sine Saloum delta and witnesses some remarkable behaviour:
This is from Autumnwatch Episode 7, broadcast November 18th. The last Dyfi osprey film of the Autumnwatch series and Roy finally tracks Einion down in Senegal - 16 weeks to the day since he tagged him 3,500 miles away on the Dyfi nest in mid Wales.
The Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust would like to thank the BBC for allowing us to show these videos on our website. If you would like to see more ospreys, the BBC have an osprey video gallery with loads of fantastic osprey footage - see here
