Dyfi Osprey Migration RoutesDyfi Osprey Migration Routes

We understand how important it is to get out of the classroom and into nature. At The Dyfi Osprey Project we want to make the process of booking your visit as straight forwards as possible. If you can't find the answer to your question here please use our School Group Booking form to ask the questions you need answering.

Group Size

We can accomodate one group of up to 30 pupils with accompanying staff at any one time.

Number of Adults

We ask that your group is accompanied by a minimum of 1 adult to every 8 pupils with additional support where necessary.

Visit Costs

Site Visits Up to 3 hours Over 3 hours
Cost per pupil £2.00 £3.00

Facilities

Our on site facilites are listed here .

In addition we also have a large covered learning area on the lower level of the 360 Observatory. This area can be used as a learning space or as a lunch area. Please note that while it is covered it is not weather proof and sessions may have to be adapted due to the weather.

What to Bring

Clothing
Everyone in your group will need to be dressed appropriately for the weather, we can move most sessions into shade or undercover if required but will generally be outside for part if not all of your session. Please bring an extra layer if it is chilly and don't forget the sun cream and a hat in the summer.

Footwear
Sensible, flat footwear is fine for all visits. You don't need wellies or boots as all access is on our wide, non-slip boardwalks.

Food and Drink
We do have a small cafe on site serving a selection of drinks and sandwiches but we recommend that groups bring their own food and drinks with them. There are a number of seating areas that can be used at lunch time. We do ask that you take all of your rubbish away with you at the end of your visit.

First Aid Kit and Medication
We have first aid facilities on site but do ask groups to make sure that they have their own first aider and first aid kit along with any specific medications required by the group. Please make our staff aware of any relevant medical conditions at the start of your visit - particularly allergies to insects and plants.

Travel

Information about finding The Dyfi Osprey Project and Cors Dyfi Nature Reserve can be found here.

Please be aware that we cannot accommodate large coaches (more than 35 seats) in the carpark and that drop off areas are very limited. We recommend groups use minibuses where possible.

Please let us know when you book how you will be travelling so that we can organise parking to accommodate your vehicles.

Other Site Users

Please be aware that The Dyfi Osprey Project and Cors Dyfi Nature Reserve are open to the public everyday from March to September. This means that we cannot offer exclusive use of the facilities like the 360 Observatory and small hides during this time. We can however arrange group access to these areas and make sure that the education areas are availble for group visits.
